Can I Have a Mask?

A frontline medical worker is torn between his responsibilities as a doctor and a dad as he grapples with his decision to re-use an old N95 mask in the early weeks of the pandemic.

I storyboarded, edited, produced, designed characters, and animated on "Can I Have A Mask?"

I was brought on to "Can I Have a Mask?" to help translate Writer/Director Sahan Jayawardena's script, itself inspired by Dr. Asitha Jayawardena's essay of the same name, to life as an animated short film. By the end of our 9-month production period, I had boarded the film and edited the animatic, while also working as a producer and an animator, leading a team of 15 artists to help brings this story to life. It has been one of the most rewarding creative projects I've ever worked on.
